Wawa, the all day, every day stop for freshly prepared foods, beverages, coffee, fuel services and surcharge-free ATMs, with close to 1,000 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, D.C., contacted Chris Wright with Tray at the height of the pandemic with an impossible request.
Wawa needed 1,000,000 three-ply surgical masks and 1,000 infrared thermometers delivered to their warehouse in Swedesboro, NJ – the same day.
Tray, who has built an unmatched reputation over the last 50 years of making the impossible possible, went to work.
Incredibly, after receiving a purchase order at 9:30 AM, Tray was able to locate the product and coordinate the logistics to deliver 1,000,000 masks and 1,000 thermometers to Wawa’s warehouse in Swedesboro, NJ by 4:30 PM the same day.
Pennsylvania Chapter of Children’s advocacy centers and Multidisciplinary teams were looking for PPE items and were unable to find a company that could provide them, much less at an economical price. Tray set up a group buy where they could all pool their resources to purchase larger overall volumes of the PPE items in order to qualify for minimum order levels that individually were beyond their reach. Tray also coordinated orders from approximately 12 centers, sourced the materials, and had its warehouse distribute them to the individual centers in a timely and economic manner. The result was that the centers were able to receive much needed supplies to help process the children that depend on them for help.
